Biography

Paolo is an open-source enthusiast, currently working as a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Red Hat on the messaging and data streaming team. He has many years of experience on distributed systems and messaging platforms from the clients to the server side. Today, he is mostly focused on data streaming architectures and how to deploy and run such systems on Kubernetes.

Involvement in the community

Paolo is an Apache Kafka contributor as well as one of the core maintainers of Strimzi, a CNCF incubating project focused on running Apache Kafka on Kubernetes. Other than contributing to the open source ecosystem, Paolo enjoys sharing his knowledge and advocating the technologies he works on. He loves to be part of the community by writing blogs and articles, recording videos and demos, talking at national and international conferences about data and event streaming. Finally, he is also CNCF ambassador and Microsoft MVP (since 11 years) on cloud-native and Java technologies.
